Engine Lease Finance Corporation (ELFC), one of the world’s leading independent spare engine leasing companies, is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Hough to the position of Chief Operating Officer.

Richard joined the company in 1997 and he has held several positions of increasing responsibility within the technical department.  In 2011 he was promoted to the position of Executive Vice President Technical and in 2013 also assumed responsibility for the Company’s IT function.  Before joining ELFC in 1997 Richard spent seven years with Shannon Aerospace where he trained as an Aircraft Engineer.  He holds an MBA in Aviation Management from University of Limerick.

Richard is succeeded by Aoife Fennell who takes up the role Executive Vice President and Chief Technical Officer.

Aoife joined ELFC in 2001 as an Engineering Manager and for the last 20 years she has undertaken increasing levels of responsibility within the technical function of the company as Vice President and most recently as Senior Vice President with responsibility for the EMEA region.

Prior to joining ELFC, Aoife studied Aeronautical Engineering at University of Limerick, graduating with an Honours Degree in 1998. Thereafter, she spent three years working as a Powerplant Engineer with FLS Aerospace in Dublin. In 2013, Aoife also completed a Diploma in Aviation Leasing & Finance with the Law Society of Ireland.
